The engineer is a crucial component of any effective defense. While the engineer lacks any meaningful firepower himself, he can construct a variety of goodies that more than make up for it. The sentry gun is one of the best, providing automated defenses. Once deployed the sentry can be upgraded twice by beating on it with your wrench and it comes in three delightful flavors: large caliber, minigun, and rocket launcher. In addition to the sentry you can also build supply dispensers and teleports to give your team the edge. You can also speed up construction by hitting a deploying object with your wrench; get multiple engineers in on the action and it will be built even faster.
